A substantial amount of our jobs involve removing dead, dying and diseased trees. We have highly trained operatives and the latest equipment to carry out this work.

This includes crown reductions, thinning, lifting and removing deadwood. It is essential for trees to be maintained in the urban environment. Balancing the need for greenery and nature when surrounded by buildings is a hard compromise, but having highly trained professionals to advise and carry out this work means a trees longevity can often be improved.

We carry out a lot of hedge trimming. For those with concerns about high hedges and light levels Tom has a good knowledge regarding the laws surrounding this issue and can advise accordingly.

When a tree has been felled we can either poison it using non-toxic chemicals or grind the stump out using our Rayco grinding machine. We can usually remove the stump to around 1ft below ground level.

Our relationship with a leading tree consultant gives us the capability to offer tree surveys and reports as well as subsidence and mortgage reports regarding trees.

Tom is also the holder of the Arboricultural Association's Technician's Certificate. This is an internationally recognised consultancy qualification. Tom is available to provide advice at an hourly rate with regard to tree related issues.

Certain trees and properties are protected by the Local Council and sometimes by residents committees. Tom Boswell Tree Services will liaise directly with either to ascertain the status of the trees concerned, and if necessary, to apply for the relevant permission.
